If you choose Morinth, then you'll receive +45 renegade points, and Morinth will gain the Dominate power. If you choose Samara, then you'll receive +30 paragon points, and Samara will gain the Reave power. If you have enough morality points, then you'll stay in control of the conversation, and when Samara bursts in, you'll be able to choose between the two. If you don't have enough renegade or paragon points, then you'll eventually succumb to Morinth's advances, but Samara will burst into the room and kill Morinth, thus saving you.
